Hello Fellow Multicore Aficionado,
We all know that both the High Performance Computing (HPC) and Embedded Markets are rapidly transitioning to multicore-enabled technologies. Despite the unquestionable requirement for multicore, there are still many more questions than answers about the adoption of this technology. The HPC system developers, although long involved in multiprocessing designs, are challenged by new programming and debug complexities associated with practically unlimited scalability of cores. Embedded system developers are challenged by similar issues, but are also faced with very fundamental decisions such as determining when is the right time to convert their legacy applications to multicore.
As chairman of the Multicore Expo, I have a responsibility to the HPC and Embedded design communities to assemble the multicore technology experts and provide you, the conference attendee, with answers to your questions. Oddly enough, I also hope that you take away from the conference more questions than you started with, as that means that we’ve enlightened you on the issues that you’ll need to be aware of as you begin your multicore-enabled design. |
